Finally our BigBand program is available in english! It has been performed and proofed at UWC Maastricht: Samuel Horn translated it and managed well to find a profound version, which is at the same time full of humour and esprit. The participatory music theatre piece "Martin und der Jazz mit Käs" invites children aged 8-13 to get to know the multifaceted qualities of jazz music in a playful way. Through vocal elements, body percussion and movement, the children are encouraged to engage with the music with their whole bodies and discover their self-efficacy. Preparatory workshops with trained music teachers, can involve the children even more and get to know the musical elements in an age-appropriate way, which are later presented at the big final concert by two actors, a big band and a singer. The music was composed by Laia Genc, the libretto was written by Samuel Horn and the pieces were arranged by Jan Torkewitz.
